FAITH PROMISE

WHAT IS A FAITH PROMISE?

Every year during the month of December we collect “Faith Promises” from those who consider Prairieview their spiritual home. A Faith Promise is simply the spiritual practice of making a commitment to financially give in faith to the advancement of God’s mission. It is a promise that is made personally between you and God. It is done by prayerfully asking God to impress on your heart how much you should and are able to give this next year; and then live into that promise by giving worshipfully, cheerfully, generously.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 says, "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." Other verses to consider regarding giving: Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 & 9:9-11. 

WHY SUBMIT A FAITH PROMISE?

By submitting a Faith Promise, we can encounter the joy it brings as Christians to commit to sharing the blessings God has given us with our brothers and sisters in Christ. In addition, giving is a spiritual discipline that grows our faith. By submitting a Faith Promise, you are committing to trust that God will continue to provide for your needs and will use your generosity to be a blessing to others.

Lastly, when you submit a Faith Promise, it also helps our church leadership be good stewards in planning for the new fiscal year. At Prairieview, the mission of making fully devoted followers and the ministries that create avenues to fulfilling that mission are completely funded by the offerings of our church community. As we prepare next year’s budget, your Faith Promise helps us discern and dream of the ministry opportunities before us this next year.
